English — Under the watch and negligent eye of the international community, the people of Eastern Congo continue to suffer all kinds of atrocities, crimes, massacres, rapes, looting and other humiliations. What have they done to deserve all these wars of aggression? Wars that are supported and sponsored by neighboring countries backed by some multinationals because of the mineral resources in the Eastern Congo.

French — Sous le regard complice et irresponsable de la communauté internationale, les habitants de l’Est de la RDC continuent à subir toutes sortes d’atrocités: crimes, massacres, viols, pillages et autres humiliations. Qu’ont-ils fait pour mériter toutes ces guerres d’agression soutenues et commanditées par les pays voisins avec l’appui de certaines multinationales à cause des ressources minières exploitées dans cette partie de l’Est du Congo?

About the director

English — Gilbert BALUFU is a filmmaker from DR Congo. In 1992 he founded with his brother Balufu Bakupa-Kanyinda an Audio-visual and Communication Company. He made in 2015 his debut documentar y “Congo! Le Silence des Crimes Oubliés”, which was extensively debated. The film was short-listed by two festivals and also showed at other festivals in Africa, Europe, USA and Canada.

French — Gilbert BALUFU est cinéaste de nationalité congolaise. En 1992, avec son frère Balufu Bakupa-Kanyinda, ils fondent la Compagnie de l’Audiovisuel et de la Communication. En 2015, il réalise son premier film documentaire «Congo! Le Silence des Crimes Oubliés ». Ce film a été sélectionné dans deux festivals et avait suscité un véritable débat. Il est aussi inscrit dans plusieurs autres festivals en Afrique, en Europe, aux USA ainsi qu’au Canada.
