Past Festivals
Every year, we host a festival in Winnipeg, Manitoba that showcases the best of African Cinema. Our festival features movies, shorts and documentaries in French and English from many African countries such as Nigeria, South Africa, Ethiopia, Burkina Faso, Kenya, Senegal, Mali and others. We host interview sessions with directors/producers/actors, cocktail receptions, and cultural activities including dances, food and entertainment.
The festival also provides a platform for dialogue on cross-cultural issues. Panels made up of academics, public leaders, community activities, students, gather to discuss socio-cultural issues related to our communities. Past discussions have focused on gender representations in cinema, racism in Cinema, and crioss-cultural representations in films.
