About the directors
Nnadozie Ekeocha
Nnadozie Ekeocha is a versatile filmmaker and cultural worker, whose documentaries and short films have been featured at festivals including the Pan-African Film Festival in Los Angeles, Cleveland International Film Festival, and Toronto Black Film Festival. With a Master’s in Finance from Johns Hopkins University and a Bachelor’s in Economics & Creative Writing from the University of North Carolina, Wilmington, Nnadozie’s multifaceted background enriches his storytelling. As the Festival Coordinator for the African Movie Festival in Manitoba, a role he held for three years, he was instrumental in curating films not only for the fall festival but year-round, fostering critical engagement among the Manitoba public. Additionally, he pioneered initiatives like the annual Filmmakers Masterclass, the first of its kind in Manitoba, empowering emerging Black creatives in the region.
